So you’re going to be living in Denver, North Carolina. First of all, allow us to be among the first to welcome you! There’s a whole lot to love in our neck of the woods, and being so close to some of the best things in the state is another big plus. There’s plenty to do in Cornelius, Huntersville, Mooresville, and Charlotte, and they are all just minutes away from us.

The truth is that moving to a new location that you’re unfamiliar with can be a big challenge. Sure, you can just try to figure things out as you go, but why do that when you can get some advice from people who actually live here? That’s why in today’s post, the team at Summit Family Dentistry is here to offer a bit of advice about what to try first. If that sounds up your alley, keep reading to learn more!

A Few Things to Try First if You’re New to Denver

Rock Springs Nature Preserve

Is there any better way to get to know an area than to get outside and do some exploring? Rock Springs Nature Preserve has two different trails to explore and it’s right by Main Street. In other words, it gets you out and about in a part of town you’ll want to know, and it is open from dawn to dusk. Bring your pets as well (as long as they’re on a leash!) and enjoy some fun walking, hiking, biking, or running in the great outdoors.

Mundy House and History Center of Eastern Lincoln County

Moving to a new place means learning about its history. That can give you some unique insight, and Mundy House is operated by the Lincoln County Historical Association with original architecture. One of their goals is preservation for “educating people about local history, historic preservation, and architecture,” making it a place you should definitely visit.

Beatty’s Ford Park

Looking for a place where everyone in the family can have some fun? Beatty’s Ford Park is the place to go, because they offer “disc golf, a walking trail, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a splash park area, two children’s playgrounds, and an amphitheater.” There’s even a picnic shelter where you can sit down for a nice lunch!
