Dr. Andy Pernell
Dr. Andy Pernell is a second-generation dentist, born and raised right down the road in Newton-Conover, NC. He is dedicated to providing exceptional and quality dental experiences for all of his patients, which is the passion that drove him to open his own practice: Summit Family Dentistry.
Dr. Layne Veneri
Dr. Layne Veneri is our Associate Dentist at Summit Family Dentistry. He takes pride in his abilities and in providing excellent care to his patients. His compassionate nature and caring attitude guides his care, as he treats everyone like family.
Dr. Allison Kelleher
Dr. Allison Kelleher is proud to provide her patients with excellent dental care. She has completed many hours of continuing education in the field so that she can ensure that she provides her patients with the most comfortable dental care.

Our office is modern, bright, and designed with your experience in mind! It was completed in June 2017 and we could not be more proud of how it turned out! Dr. Pernell uses an ultrasonic pick to remove tartar instead of the endless, painful scraping I always endured before.
I also liked being able to see the x-ray and camera images as they were discussed.

Can not say enough good things about Dr. Andy and the staff at Summit. They went out of their way to accommodate me for a replacement filling, scheduling me quickly and Darlene even helped entertain my 1-year-old during my appointment! I avoid the dentist unfortunately at all costs! With that being said I had the best experience I have ever had at the Dentist today. And I had a root canal. I have been twice now and neither time have I been stuck in the waiting room or in a room waiting for someone to show up. I was told what was happening every step of the way so things were not unexpected. I did not feel rushed and I felt like my time was valued. Dr. Pernell did not work on six other people while he was working on me. The front desk staff, the hygienist, and the assistants are just all super sweet. I am so happy I picked this Dentist. I am a new patient and I would highly recommend this choice.

I was so impressed with Dr. Pernell and his staff. My daughter had a very bad experience with her prior dentist and was very anxious about having another tooth pulled. She cried before Dr. Pernell even started as she was anticipating it to be another horrible experience. Well, she was pleasantly surprised that he and Kayla were so sweet to her and took the process very slowly to ensure as little discomfort as possible. Ace & TJ's Grin Kids!
Ace and TJ’s Grin Kids. Grin Kids was formed to provide the opportunity for children with life-threatening illness to go to Disney World with their families. It is a wonderful opportunity that many of these children would not otherwise have.
Love Denver
We thoroughly enjoyed completing dental screenings at the Love Denver event held at East Lincoln High School! “Love Denver is a multi-church sponsored, back to school themed, community medical clinic with a mission to “meet the spiritual and physical needs of the needy through the Gospel and Name of Jesus.”’
NC Baptist Dental Van
We also had a lot of fun working on the NC Baptist Dental Van at Real Life Church in Lucia. We were able to see quite of few people in need for dental work along with other members of the dental community in Denver and surrounding areas. We had a lot of fun and hope to make this a tradition.
Ada Jenkins Dental Bus
We volunteered in Charlotte on the Ada Jenkins Dental Bus at the Salvation Army Center for Hope Shelter. It was a great way to again help those that would otherwise not be able to get the dental care they deserve.
